1My class is doing a project about animals this month. Ken and I choose the panda because it is lovely and rare. Pandas live in the mountains of China and eat bamboo all day. Ben writes about strong animals like the tiger and the lion. Our school hall has a big fish tank with colourful fish swimming around.
2I keep a rabbit at home. It has long ears, a short tail and soft white fur. It eats carrots and green vegetables every day. My cousin has a dog and two cats. The dog is friendly, and the cats love to sleep in the sun. A little bird often sings outside our classroom window.
3Animals need clean water, food and a safe home. We must protect them because they are our friends. We should not throw rubbish into the sea or cut down forests. I am drawing a big poster for our project. I hope the panda, the tiger and the lion can live happily forever.

- 讀熟動物詞舉個例子：跟讀 cat、dog、bird、fish、rabbit、tiger、lion、panda，一邊讀一邊模仿那種動物的動作或叫聲，例如讀 rabbit 就做兔子跳，讀 bird 就擺動手臂學飛。動作能把單詞與身體感覺連起來，記得更牢；讀完再把動物分成寵物與野生動物兩類，分類時順便把每個詞再說一遍。
- 說動物特徵舉個例子：It has long ears and a short tail. 描述動物外貌用 has 句型：It has 加特徵，例如 long ears、a short tail、black and white fur。單數動物用 has，眾數動物用 have；可以把兩三個特徵用 and 連成一句，描述更豐富。易錯位是把 have 用在單數主語後面，寫完先檢查主語是單數還是眾數。
- has / have 分清楚舉個例子：單數用 has：The dog has a long tail. 眾數用 have：The cats have soft fur. 判斷關鍵只在主語：一種動物或 it 用 has，兩種以上或 they 用 have。易錯位是句子加長後認錯主語，例如 The dog and the cat have... 其實是兩隻動物，要用 have；先圈出主語再選動詞，就不會出錯。
- 說住哪裡與吃什麼舉個例子：Pandas live in the mountains and eat bamboo. Rabbits eat carrots. 描述生活環境用 live in 加地方，描述食物用 eat 加食物名稱，還可以補充動作：Birds fly in the sky. Fish swim in the sea.。注意主語是眾數時動詞用原形；若改成單數 The panda lives...，live 便要加 s，前後要保持一致。
- 說怎樣保護動物舉個例子：We must protect animals. We should not throw rubbish into the sea. must 表示必須做的責任，should not 表示不應該做的事，兩個情態動詞後面都接動詞原形。保護動物的例子還有：不打擾雀鳥的巢、不買瀕危動物製品；寫作時先說 We must...，再說 We should not...，正反對比更有說服力。
- 介紹自己養的寵物舉個例子：I keep a rabbit at home. It is white and soft. It eats carrots every day. 介紹寵物分三步：先說養了什麼（I keep...），再說外貌（It is...），最後說習慣（It eats...）。描述寵物用 It，所以動詞 is、eats 都是單數形式；把三類句子串起來就是一段完整的寵物介紹，可以直接用在寫作裡。

問題：怎樣用五句英文，由外貌到感受完整介紹一種動物？
- 第一步：先說牠是什麼，例如 The panda is a lovely and rare animal.，用一個形容詞點出牠給人的印象。
- 第二步：說外貌特徵，例如 It has black and white fur.，主語是 It，動詞記得用 has。
- 第三步：說吃什麼，例如 It eats bamboo all day.，把牠常吃的東西說清楚，描述便具體。
- 第四步：說住在哪裡，例如 It lives in the mountains of China.，主語 It 之後 lives 要加 s。
- 第五步：加一句感受作結，例如 I love pandas because they are so cute.，用 because 說明喜歡的原因。
