1Dear Grandma, How are you? I miss you very much. My school life is busy and happy. The weather in Hong Kong is getting hotter now. I am writing this letter at my desk after dinner, and the whole family says hello to you.
2My best subject is English, and my teacher says I write good sentences. Last month, our class visited the Science Museum. We saw many interesting robots there, and I asked the guide lots of questions. I got full marks in my spelling test too. My grammar is getting better because I check my homework every night.
3After school, I help my mother water the plants on our balcony. On Sundays, I play table tennis with my father in the park. Please take care of your health, and remember to wear a warm coat. Mum says we will take the train and stay for a week. I hope to visit you in Guangzhou this summer. Love, Wing-yan.

- 格式一：称呼举个例子：信的第一行顶格写 Dear Grandma,（亲爱的婆婆），Dear 后面接收信人称呼，结尾一定要有逗号。称呼决定了整封信的语气：写给长辈或老师用姓名加称谓，例如 Dear Miss Lee；写给好朋友可以直呼名字，例如 Dear Mary。漏了逗号是书信最常见的格式错误，下笔前先检查这一行。
- 格式二：开场问好举个例子：How are you? I miss you very much. 信的头一、两句先问候对方，再进入正文，这是书信的礼貌。可以先答谢对方的来信：Thank you for your letter.，再问对方近况；易错位是一开始就说自己的事，显得唐突。问候语不必长，两句以内，温暖就已足够。
- 格式三：中段说近况举个例子：My best subject is English. Last month, our class visited the Science Museum. 信的中段是主要内容，一次讲一件事，一段一件事，条理便清晰。写近况可以说学校生活、家庭活动或最新趣事，已发生的事用过去式记录；把最重要的事放在前面，细节辅助其后，对方读起来才有重点。
- 格式四：结尾祝福举个例子：Please take care of your health. I hope to visit you this summer. 信尾向对方送上祝福或表达期望，令信有温暖的收结。祝福语按对象调整：长辈宜祝健康，朋友宜祝愉快或期待再见；也可以提出希望，例如盼望暑假见面。祝福语放在正文之后、署名之前，一两句便够。
- 格式五：署名举个例子：结尾语 Love, 或 Yours, 写在右下方，换行再写自己的名字 Wing-yan。给家人朋友用 Love、Best wishes；给老师或较正式的对象用 Yours，语气更端庄。结尾语后面同样要加逗号，名字写在下一行；漏了署名，对方便不知道是谁写的信，这是不可省略的部分。
- 写完检查举个例子：信写完后按五个位置逐项检查：称呼、问候、近况、祝福、署名，一个都不能漏。再把全文读一次，检查每句大写与标点，特别是称呼与署名后的逗号；若时间允许，隔十五分钟再读一次，往往能发现新的错处。书信格式分是白送的分数，五项齐全就能拿满。
