1A Review of 'The Singing Kite'
2I love reading, and I often write a short review after I finish a book. Last week, I read a book called 'The Singing Kite', written by Jack Chan. It is a story book for young readers, with lovely pictures on every page. It is also easy to read, so I finished it in three days.
3The story is about a shy boy who finds an old kite in his grandmother's attic. When he flies it, the kite sings a beautiful song! The song gives him courage to talk to his classmates. However, one stormy day, the kite is blown away.
4The boy searches everywhere and never gives up. He looks in the park, by the river and even on the roof. In the end, he finds the kite on a hill and makes a new friend there.
5The story is exciting, and the pictures are beautiful. The boy's journey is interesting and touching. The middle part is a little slow, but it is never boring. It teaches us to be brave and never give up. It would make a great movie too! I recommend this book to all Primary 5 students, and I give it five stars!

- 介紹評論的開頭要介紹作品名稱與作者或導演。例句：I watched The Lion King. It is written by a famous director. 要注意讀過的書用 I read 加書名，看過的電影用 I watched；作品名稱的每個主要單詞都要大寫；開頭一句直接交代看過或讀過什麼，不必鋪墊；如果有作者或導演的資料，補上一句會更完整，例如 It is written by Roald Dahl.
- 內容內容部分要簡略介紹故事，一句講清主線。例句：It is about a young lion called Simba. 要注意評論不是重述全書，劇情講到開端即可，結局留給讀者想像，不要寫出最後誰勝誰負；about 之後接故事的主題；called 用來帶出角色的名字；概括故事時用現在式，這是評論介紹劇情的慣例，即使故事發生在過去也一樣。
- 點評點評用形容詞加原因的結構。例句：It is exciting because the songs are beautiful. 要注意先給出評價詞，例如 exciting、moving、funny，再用 because 補充理由；評價詞要與原因匹配，不能出現 boring because it is interesting 這種矛盾組合；點評可以寫兩三句，分別評情節、音樂或畫面，評論會更有層次，分數也更高。
- 推薦推薦句式是 I recommend 加對象，並可加上星數。例句：I recommend it to everyone. I give it five stars. 要注意 recommend 之後接名詞或 it；星數用 I give it four stars 這種說法，star 按數字變複數，例如 five stars；推薦與評分放在結尾，是評論的常規收束；也可以說 I would recommend it to people who love animals，把推薦對象說得更具體。
- 名稱大寫書名與戲名的每個主要單詞都要大寫：The Singing Kite、The Lion King. 要注意大寫規則是主要單詞的首字母大寫，包括名詞、動詞與形容詞；介詞、冠詞與連接詞通常小寫，例如 the、of、and，除非它們位於標題開頭；書寫時可以給標題加底線或用斜體；漏掉大寫是評論寫作常見的格式錯誤，寫完要逐一檢查標題。
