1Peter and Jane are in the park. Peter has a new kite. He runs fast with the kite. Jane sits on the grass. She eats an apple. The kite flies high in the sky. It looks like a big bird.
2The wind blows hard. The kite goes higher and higher. Peter laughs and jumps. Jane claps her hands. A little dog runs near them. It barks happily. They laugh and play together. I watch them and smile.
3I am their friend. You can come to the park too. He, she and it are pronouns. We and they are pronouns too. We have lots of fun, and you can play with us next time!

- 代名詞是什麼Peter has a kite. He runs fast. 第二句的 He 代替了 Peter，不用把名字說了又說，這類字叫代名詞（pronouns）。用代名詞句子更簡潔，讀起來也不重複。試一試：把一段文字裡出現多次的名字換成 he 或 she，讀起來立刻順口得多。
- 第一段套用在第一段裡練習套用：Peter 是男孩，用 he：He runs fast.（他跑得快）；Jane 是女孩，用 she：She eats an apple.（她吃一個蘋果）；kite 是東西，用 it：It looks like a big bird.（它像一隻大鳥）。記住口訣：男用 he，女用 she，東西用 it。
- 七個主格代名詞英語有七個主格代名詞：I（我）、you（你）、he（他）、she（她）、it（它）、we（我們）、they（他們）。按照次序大聲讀幾次，讀到滾瓜爛熟。說英語或寫句子時，先想清楚要代替誰，再從七個字中選出正確的那一個。

- we 還是 theywe 和 they 都是眾數，但角度不同：說自己這一邊的人用 we，例如 We have lots of fun.（我們玩得很開心）；說另外一群人用 they，例如 They laugh and play together.（他們又笑又玩）。先分清楚自己人在哪一邊，再選用 we 或 they。
- 句式練習把兩句用代名詞連接：This is Amy. She is my friend.（這是 Amy，她是我的朋友）。第二句用 She 代替 Amy，名字只需要說一次。數一數用了代名詞之後省了多少次名字，體會代名詞讓句子變得簡潔的好處。

- 先讀七個代名詞：I, you, he, she, it, we, they。一邊讀一邊記住每個字代表誰。
