1Why Are Hong Kong Teens Losing Sleep? Hong Kong teenagers are among the most sleep-deprived in the world. According to a recent survey, most secondary school students sleep fewer than seven hours a night. Doctors say teenagers actually need eight to ten hours to grow and learn properly. Yet many of them blame themselves for feeling tired all day.

2There are three main causes: heavy homework loads, after-school tutorials and smartphone use. Many students finish homework at midnight and then scroll through social media for another hour. They are unaware that the blue light from screens keeps their brains awake. A quick check of their phones before bed turns into two hours of videos. Some also drink bubble tea late at night, which makes the problem worse.

3Sleep deprivation affects more than just concentration in class. Doctors warn that it weakens the immune system and raises the risk of anxiety. Students who sleep too little also catch colds more easily and forget what they have studied. The result is a tired student who cannot focus, even in favourite subjects. In the long run, poor sleep can even affect growth and mood.

4Fortunately, the solution is within our reach. Schools could set homework limits, while students should put their phones away an hour before bedtime. Parents can help by keeping the home quiet and dim at night. A simple rule works for many families: no screens after ten o'clock. Teenagers themselves can take the first step: set an alarm to stop scrolling, not to wake up. Small changes, kept every night, bring big results in a few weeks. After all, a well-rested brain is the best study aid.

Steps

A quick check... turns into two hours of videos,一句写尽学生共鸣。
以范文为例:学校限制功课量、家中 no screens after ten、学生 set an alarm to stop scrolling, not to wake up,三项建议具体到可以直接执行,最后以 a well-rested brain is the best study aid 金句收结。

Example

范文《Why Are Hong Kong Teens Losing Sleep?》示范杂志文章写法。

  5. 第五步:建议贴身可行:学校限功课量、家长晚上调暗灯、「no screens after ten」;金句「a well-rested brain is the best study aid」收结。
最后用「a well-rested brain is the best study aid」收结。
