1Last Wednesday, I woke up with a high fever and a terrible headache. My mother touched my forehead, saw that my symptoms were serious, and took me to the clinic near our home. The nurse measured my temperature and wrote down my details on a card. Then the doctor examined me carefully and asked about my other symptoms. “You have the flu, not a sports injury, so don't worry,” he said with a smile.
2He gave me some medicine and told me to rest for two days. At home, I drank warm water, slept a lot and stayed away from my phone. My mother cooked light meals for me, and my sister brought me her favourite comics to cheer me up. I followed the doctor's advice and took the medicine three times a day. Although I felt bored, I knew that rest was the fastest way to get well. On Thursday, my fever finally dropped.
3By Friday, I felt much better and returned to school. My classmates asked about my health, and I told them how the nurse and doctor had helped me. This experience taught me to take better care of my body. I now wash my hands more often, eat more fruit and go to bed earlier. I promised my mother that I would not hide any symptom again, and I would see a doctor whenever I feel unwell.
