§Text Passage

1Every student in my class has an interesting hobby. My hobby is photography, and I enjoy taking pictures of birds in the park every weekend. My brother likes playing the guitar, and he practises the instrument for an hour every day. My sister loves collecting stamps from different countries, and she keeps them in a thick blue album. My friend Ryan rides his skateboard in the skate park near the library twice a week.

2Hobbies are different from school subjects because we choose them ourselves. Ryan says playing football keeps him fit, but he hates getting up early for matches. My deskmate enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles with her grandmother at the weekend. In the evening, I like listening to Cantonese pop songs while I do my homework. On Sundays, my family sometimes watches a football match together at home, and Dad cooks popcorn for us.

3Last month, our school held a Hobby Fair, and I joined the Photography Club. The teacher taught us how to hold the camera still and catch the light. Now I take better photos, and my album is full of birds, sunsets and smiling faces. My brother wants to join the guitar club next term. Hobbies make our free time fun, and they help us learn new skills and make new friends too.
