Admissions calendar 2026–27

Around 40 DSS schools set their own schedules, opening from September to November. Per-school dates will land in the school database. School announcements prevail.

Account creation and applications open from 9:00 am.

HKEAA confirms detailed scheduling for these four subjects in early November; the rest of the 2027 timetable was published on 22 May 2026.

Available from 10:00 am via the primary school applied to (and the e-platform).

Parents of successful applicants register at the school on either day.

5:00 pm sharp; fee HK$500, late applications carry an extra charge.

Main-round deadline for institutional self-nomination schemes (e.g. EdUHK).

Apply to up to two government/aided schools (including participating DSS), anywhere in Hong Kong; no written tests allowed at this stage.

The EDB sets no interview window (only written tests are banned); schools generally interview January–March — follow each school's notice.

Via the e-platform 18–24 Jan; designated allocation centres 23–24 Jan; CA-only applicants by 22 Jan.

Reference Reports for school-reported results; non-school applicants submit their own.

Schools notify successful (firm-offer) applicants in writing and by phone; waitlisted and unsuccessful applicants are not notified. Firm-offer students bypass central allocation.

Visual arts opens on 6 Apr; core subjects: Chinese 8 Apr, English 9–10 Apr, Maths 12 Apr, Citizenship 13 Apr. Full listing on the HKEAA timetable.

Music qualifications and other language results due 5:00 pm.

Returned via the child's primary school in early May (forms issued early April); exact dates rest with the EDB.

Reserved for exam postponements — arrangements at the HKEAA's discretion.

One revision allowed at HK$250, due 5:00 pm — choose carefully.

On the e-platform from 10:00 am; letters posted 2–3 June.
